Back in October, Chase Side Primary School put out a special request to the community to pick up their needles and crochet and knit poppies for their planned Remembrance Day Poppy installation. The response was amazing and they received so many donations. It took many hours to sew the poppies to the mesh but the hard work paid off as there is now a beautiful 'Poppy Fountain' on display at the front of the building for all to admire.
The display marks Remembrance day in memory of the 117 pupils and one teacher who fought and died in the First World War, who the school pay special tribute to each year.
Well done to everyone who contributed poppies or volunteered to sew!
