Space Between Us Programme Wins Prestigious Dream Intergenerational Team Award at InCommon Age Friendly Awards
Chickenshed are thrilled to announce that our Space Between Us (SBU) programme has been honoured with The Dream Intergenerational Team Award at the 2025 InCommon Age Friendly Awards. This award recognises the outstanding impact that our community team has on the members of The Gladrags Secret Society project.
Space Between Us (SBU) is Chickenshed’s ground-breaking intergenerational programme that brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to explore, create, and connect. Rooted in our ethos of inclusion, SBU breaks down barriers between generations through collaborative projects that celebrate diversity, promote empathy, and build lasting relationships.
In partnership with Age UK Enfield The Gladrags Secret Society was developed as a joyful and imaginative initiative - a world where glitter meets glamour, where hearts are touched, and souls are lifted. This unique project takes participants on a nostalgic journey through the decades, offering the chance to meet new friends of all ages and dress up for a glamorous, posh afternoon out.
Designed especially for people aged 60 and over, Gladrags offers a glittering celebration of community, connection, and self-expression through theatre, storytelling, and performance.
Winning The Dream Intergenerational Team Award is a testament to the creativity, commitment, and community spirit of everyone involved in The Space Between Us and Gladrags. It also highlights the powerful outcomes that can be achieved through true collaboration between organisations like Chickenshed and Age UK Enfield united by a vision of a more inclusive and connected society.
